It was the longest game in G.W. history, and it was one for the books!  The GarField Indians came to town, fresh off two straight victories over the Eagles in previous seasons.  As expected, the game was a defensive struggle, with a finish that NO one could have predicted.

Bobby Martin's defense had a tough task, facing the balanced Indian attack. They held them to seven points the first 47 minutes of the game.  But GarField scored a touchdown with a minute left to tie it up at 14-14, sending the game into overtime.  It was G.W. first overtime playoff game in 7 years.

QB Jon Fulton stepped it up in overtime.  Here, he looks over the defense before lofting a touchdown pass to Antonio Fitzgerald in the first overtime.  This answered a GarField score to send the game into a second overtime.

Both teams scored in the second overtime to make it 28-28.  In the third overtime, GarField scored to take a 35-28 lead.  G.W. answered as Bryon Martin (44) ran it in from 5 yards out.  On to overtime # 4!!!

In the 4th overtime, G.W. had the ball first.  On first down, Raheim Venable bounced off a would-be tackler, went left, and ran it in from ten yards out!  Then it was GarField's ball.

Quarterback Ryan White, who had victimized G.W. on keepers all night, kept the ball and went left.  He squirted past the five, and neared the goal line...he stretched the ball away from his body, trying to find the end zone...
But G.W.'s Drew Clark nailed him at the one, Smith fumbled the ball, and G.W. recovered!!  It gave G.W. a 42-35 win in the longest game in school history!!!!
