Oct. 13th, 2000 --- G.W. 21 E.C. Glass 0
Three in a row!!
The G.W. Eagles used a big running play, a turnover, and a big defensive play to throttle the E.C. Glass Hilltoppers in Homecoming 2000, taking home a 21-0 win. G.W. used a big run in the first quarter to set up their first score. Then, the Eagles recovered a Glass fumble deep in 'Topper territory, and Chase Fitzgerald ran it in from four yards out to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead. In the second quarter, Glass recovered an Eagle fumble and was threatening to score. But Torrence Nunnally took care of that, giving G.W. a 21-0 halftime lead. In the second half, G.W. went conservative to protect the lead, and it worked, as they beat Glass for the third year in a row, giving them a 2-0 record in the Western District.
G.W.'s Demetrius Jackson drags a
pile of Hilltoppers along for the ride. D-Jack was the Eagles'
leading rusher against Glass. |
