This is a game we'll probably be talking about for a VERY long time. The two-time defending state champions form Reidsville entered Christopher Stadium winners of 35 of their last 37 games, and having won their five games in 2004 by a 232-21 margin.
The Eagles used special teams to score first. Donald Thompson blocked a punt through the end zone to give G.W. a 2-0 lead. The Rams answered in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead. But G.W. would retake the lead on the next play from scrimmage. But Reidsville scored again to take a 14-9 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Rams had their chances, but they missed a field goal in the third. G.W. had all kinds of problems with the stingy Rams defense. G.W. got the ball with two minutes left. After a key first down conversion, the Eagles went to the air to pull out a miraculous win!
