The G.W. Eagles had their hearts broken for the third year in a row by the Amherst County Lancers. A late touchdown was the difference as the Lancers escaped from Danville with a 28-24 win. The Lancers used a couple of pitch plays to build a 14-3 lead. The Eagles scored with 1:24 left in the first half to cut it to 14-10. A halfback option pass made it 21-10 Lancers, but the Eagles scored just before the end of the first half to make it 21-17. The teams traded possessions in the third. Then the Eagles scored with 3:52 left to take the lead. But the Lancers marched downfield and scored with :17 left to get the win.
