Homecoming shutout!

The first of four touchdowns for Stanford Lipscomb!

The Bassett Bengals brought a four-game winning streak and a high-powered offense to JT Christopher Stadium Friday. Then they ran into the G.W. defense.

The Eagles dominated the Bengals' vaunted passing attack from the first play to the last, limiting David Cook to an abysmal 5-of-24 passing night. Two of his completions were modified Hail Marys.  The Eagles also racked up five sacks and 13 quarterback hurries as they pitched their first shutout in five seasons.

On the offense, the formula was the same for the Eagles...a heavy dose of runs behind a mammoth offensive line.  Stanford Lipscomb had the hot hand.  He opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 42-yard scamper.  He scored twice more to give the Eagles a 21-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, it was more of the same. Lipscomb scored a fourth touchdown. It was followed up by a score from KeShawn Waller.

The win is the fifth in a row for the Eagles!

Dominick Neal-Hairston had 2.5 sacks against Bassett!
