District Dominance!

The Piedmont District season is underway...and the GW Eagles are once again setting themselves up as the team to beat.  The Eagles scored early and often against Patrick County, dominating the Cougars Friday 61-14 in the district opener for both teams.

The Eagles wasted no time, scoring on their first play from scrimmage.  They added another touchdown in their next possession to go up 14-0.  In the second quarter, the Eagles exploded for FIVE touchdowns...three from Senior Donovan Howard.  With a 47-0 lead at the break, the Eagles kept their starters in for one possession in the second half, scoring their eighth touchdown.  Patrick County was able to score twice on the Eagles' defensive reserves.

The Eagles first-string defense held Patrick County to 15 first-half yards, and forced two turnovers. Jeb Brynes threw four touchdown passes...three of them to Dixon.
