Week 3 2020

A solid first half helped the GW Eagles make up for a lackluster second half, particularly by offense and special teams, as they cruised to a 45-7 win over the Halifax County Blue Comets.

The Eagles scored on all but one of their first-half possessions. Jeb Byrnes scored two touchdowns with his legs. The Eagles also got three touchdowns from Willie Edmunds. Zavion King hauled in a touchdown pass for the second week in a row and Sophomore Razavier Carter scored his first high school touchdown.

On defense, the Eagles were lights out. They held the Comets to only 11 yards on the ground. Before a late touchdown pass against the second team defense, the Comets had racked up only 62 total yards! Jalen Strange had two sacks for the second week in a row. Ahmad Poole added another sack and two more tackles for losses as he switched to Nose Tackle.
