Solid Bounce-Back win!
Any
questions about whether the GW Eagles would have an emotional hangover
after a humbling loss the week before against the E.C. Glass
Hilltoppers were answered quickly. The Eagles scored on all five
first-half possessions as they overwhelmed the Patrick County Cougars,
getting a 54-14 road win in Stuart.
Wesley Graves scored three
first-quarter touchdowns to push GW to a 21-0 lead. Midway
through the second, the Eagles went to the air to extend their lead to
27-0. A Willie Edmunds touchdown gave the Eagles a 34-0 halftime
lead.
The Cougars got on board quickly in the second half,
scoring on a long pass play. The Eagles made up for the touchdown
on the subsequent kickoff return.
After that, Graves put the cap on another incredible night, scoring his fourth touchdown, giving his 22 on the year!
