Playoff-opening blowout!
The GW Eagles were able to overcome a stubborn Tunstall Trojan defense with a little defense of their own. They pitched their fourth shutout of the season, knocking off Tunstall 21-0 on Senior Night at Christopher Stadium.
GW opened the scoring with a nifty run in the first quarter. Their next touchdown came in the second period, with a pair of good friends hooking up for the eighth time this year.
The score remained 14-0 into the second half. Two Tunstall fumbles spoiled any chance of breaking the goose egg. GW used a gutsy fourth down conversion to set up their final score of the night.
The Eagles will go for their first 10-0 regular season since 1996 next week when they travel to Martinsville to take on the Bulldogs.
