District-opening shutout!
For the second year in a row, the GW Eagles opened their Piedmont District schedule with a shutout of Halifax County. The Eagles piled up 41 points in the win.
For the third game in a row,
the Eagles scored on their first possession. After a pair of
three-and-outs, the Eagles' fourth possession ended with a nifty
touchdown run. Two minutes later, the Eagles took to the air to score
again. Two-and-a-half minutes later, another pass
for a score. GW closed out the first half with a score to go into the
break 34-0. They tacked on a score in the third quarter, and the defense
held on for their second shutout in four games!
The Eagles move to 4-0 with the win. Next up, a road trip to Bassett.
