Cruise Control!
For the week year in a row, the GW Eagles scored on their opening possession, then added on while relying on a stingy defense to score a big home victory! The Eagles scored first just three plays into the game. Then. Amherst County took in a long TD run from 79 yards out to tie things at seven. The Eagles re-took the lead on a tipped pass before the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defense got downright offensive, putting two more points on the board! The Eagles took a 26-7 lead into the break.
The second half, for the second week in a row, was all GW. Their first drive was capped by an option pitch. The Eagles added another touchdown pass from Hunter Byrnes to Isaiah Guzman; then a 41-yard Field Goal from Caleb McGeough to take a 43-7 win, improving to 2-0!
