Apparently not content to leave Danville with a convincing victory, the E.C. Glass Hilltoppers felt compelled to score one last touchdown en route to a 40-15 win over G.W. on Senior Night. The game started off on a low note with a fumble on the opening kickoff that Glass returned for a touchdown. They built up a 14-3 halftime lead, then stretched it to 28-3 with TD drives on their first two second-half possessions. That's when the Eagles finally found their way into the end zone. Glass answered with another score, then the Eagles broke into double digits on John Gregory's second touchdown of the night.
With Glass obviously running out the clock, G.W. began substituting liberally on defense to give some seldom-used players a chance to get in a few snaps before the season was over. That's when Glass opted to go to the air for a touchdown to run up the score. Nice touch.
The Eagles close out their 2005 season with a 5-5 record.
