The Eagles scored touchdowns on seven of their nine possessions, and outlasted a stubborn Trojan team to open the season 1-0. G.W. scored on it's first possession, then Tunstall drove downfield and punted to the G.W. three-inch line. That cleared the way for the longest touchdown run in G.W. High School history. But the Trojans kept moving the ball, and eventually cut the lead to 21-14. G.W. scored just before the half, then went to the air to stretch it out to a 35-14 lead. The Eagles scored twice more in the fourth to top the Trojans in the first-ever meeting between these two teams.
