It was one of the more frustrating losses in recent memory for G.W. Franklin County held the football for 19 of the 24 minutes in the second-half, allowing them to win, 28-26. The game started out well for G.W. They took the opening drive in for a touchdown, then added a second score a few minutes later. But two Franklin County touchdowns, the last one coming on the final play of the first half, gave them a 14-13 edge at the break. They opened the third quarter with a long, time-consuming touchdown drive. Then. G.W. quickly answered. But another long, time-consuming touchdown drive gave Franklin County a 28-19 edge. G.W. scored again, but simply ran out of time.
