It was an emotion-filled night at J. T. Christopher Stadium. In addition to closing out their regular season against the powerful Cave Spring Knights with a district title on the line, the G.W. Eagles also spent halftime dedicating a memorial to former coaches Alger Pugh, Sonny Wall, and Eddie Martin.
Cave Spring got an early 7-0 lead, but G.W. recovered a muffed punt, then converted on fourth down to tie the game. To the left, Antonio Fitzgerald's touchdown pass was the one that tied it up. |
