The G.W. Eagles traveled to Franklin County in a showdown for the Western Valley District championship.  They were hurting.  One starter was out and at least four others were going in severely hobbled.

One of those hobbled starters, Cameron Martin, scored on the Eagles' first possession, giving GW a 7-0 lead in the first.

In the second, Franklin County scored to even things at 7.  In the second quarter, Cam was tackled and fumbled at the Franklin County 3, injuring himself ad looking VERY doubtful for the 2nd half.

In the third quarter, Cam answered the call, but was quickly injured as Franklin County scored two touchdowns and built a 20-7 lead with six minutes left.  Then Cam re-entered the game.  He engineered a long touchdown drive capped by Haylen Murphy.

Franklin County got the football back, looking to run out the clock. G.W. needed the ball in a hurry.  They got it, thanks to a Ronnie Edwards fumble, forced by Cameron Martin.

The Eagles had the ball, 84 yards away from the end zone.  Cam went wild.  He ran for 18 yards on a 3rd and 16.  He completed an 18-yard pass to Tyrell Lea (pictured) and a 19-yarder to Bam Walton
He then ran 17 yards on a 3rd and seven.  A 13-yard run by Cam gave the Eagles a 1st and Goal from the 8.  A one-yard loss put it on the nine, then Cam ran to the three and spiked the ball with :23 seconds left.  That set up a 4th and goal from the three.  Cam, once again, was the man.  The defense celebrated (Pictured)
That set up an extra point to win it.  Herbie Williams handled a low snap and Trevor Owen booted it through.  BALLGAME!  G.W. won the Western Valley District championship!
