This time, the Eagles made the plays at key points in the ballgame, and outlasted the Person County Rockets, 42-29. Travis Valentine got his first-ever start at fullback and made the Rockets pay for keying on Kenny Lewis. He scored on two touchdown runs to give G.W. an early lead. Person County answered, then Jon Fulton went to the air to hit Ryan Martin to make it 22-7. Person County scored with :15 left in the half...but that was all the time G.W. needed to take a two-touchdown lead into the break. The Rockets scored on their first two drives of the second half to tie the game at 29-29, then the Eagle defense stiffened. With four minutes left to go, the Rockets had to punt, and Kenny Lewis made them pay. Jon Fulton later added a 55-yard touchdown as the Eagles break into the win column!
