Haylen Murphy breaks the record!

The G.W. Eagles and the Page Pirates combined for 99 points and 1,041 total yards of offense, in a shootout---the likes of which has never been seen before at J.T. Christopher Stadium. The only thing that slowed the Eagles in the first half were two fumbled as they built a 28-14 lead, only to see Page score to close it to 28-21 at the break.
In the second half, the Eagles "D" forced a three-and-out, and the offense followed with big runs from T.J. Price and John Gregory to make it a 42-21 lead. But the Pirates stormed back. They never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way, and it was just too much offense, and too much Haylen Murphy. He set the all-time G.W. record for rushing yards in a game with 325 on 23 carries. He broke the record on a 32-yard Touchdown run with 1:50 remaining.
The Eagles also set modern-day records for rushing yards in a game and total yards.
