Week 4

The GW Eagles left little doubt in their district-opener against Martinsville. The offensive exploded for 258 yards in the FIRST quarter, scoring touchdowns on all of their first-half possessions. The only exception was a fumble on the opening kickoff. Meantime, the Eagles defense put in its best performance of the year as they dominated Martinsville, 62-15.

Wesley Graves returned from a shoulder injury, taking his first carry 54 yards for a score. On the next possession, quarterback Carlos Poole would run it in from 32 yards. Both Poole and Graves had three touchdowns on the night. Weber Harris added two scores as well.

The Eagle defense, with some shuffling in personnel, held Martinsville to under 200 yards, forcing punts on the Bulldogs' first five possessions.

With a 49-7 halftime lead, the second half was played with a scrolling clock. As a result, GW had only four offensive snaps the entire second half! The last one was special. With no time on the clock, a Freshman scored a touchdown on his first high school carry!
