The G.W. Eagles survived a shaky start and a second half rally to post their second straight road win to open the season---an impressive 40-22 victory over Amherst County! After falling behind 7-0, the Eagles tied it up early in the second half. G.W. went to the air on their next possession and took the lead. The Eagles extended the lead on a nifty quarterback keeper. They closed out their first-half scoring with a jet sweep, going into the break up 26-7! After a quick Lancer score, G.W. answered quickly. G.W. tallied a whopping 578 yards! They also played some nasty "D."
