Oct. 12, 2012 --- G.W. 14  William Fleming 0

Survival of the fittest!

The G.W. Eagles didn't so much win as survive.  Going up against a William Fleming team, a week removed from a emotional win over Patrick Henry, the Eagles offense struggled.  G.W. managed to flash some defense, pop a couple of big plays, and escape William Fleming with a 14-0 win.

The Eagles punted on their first three possessions, but they also forced three Colonel punts.  Travis Jones got a big punt return to set up the Eagles deep in Fleming territory.  Akeem Smith did the honors minutes later.

That 7-0 score stood up most of the game.  The Eagles forced two Colonel turnovers while the offense continued to struggle.  The Eagles stopped a big fourth down play late in the fourth.  Then sealed the deal with an all-or-nothing fourth down run.
