The G.W. Eagles could do little against a stingy Amherst County Lancer defense, dropping a 19-6 Shrine Game decision. After Amherst County moved the ball and scored a field goal on their first drive, the Eagles took over and used a long pass to Malik Clements to set themselves up at the Lancer 11. But an interception returned 100 yards for a touchdown gave the Lancers a 10-0, and turned the game around. The Lancers built up a 19-0 lead. Then the Eagles' defense got G.W. on the scoreboard. But the second half was a series of frustrations for the Eagles...all four drives ended on failed fourth down conversions.
