Another tough road loss
There were two great comebacks in this game, but for Eagle fans, the wrong team came out on top. G.W. opened with a nine-play, 52-yard drive to go up 7-0. It remained that way until the 1:51 mark of the second quarter. In the next 58 seconds, Churchland blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown, then connected on a long TD pass to take a 13-7 lead into the break. The Truckers scored late in the third quarter to take a 19-7 lead---but the Eagles stormed back! Devonta Ballard hit Chris Burton with a super 27-yard scoring strike with 6:48 left to close the deficit to 19-14. Then, Travis Jones scored his second touchdown of the night to give the Eagles a 22-19 lead with two minutes left. Churchland then engineered an improbable touchdown drive, scoring the winning touchdown with :49 seconds left. The Truckers then picked off a last-second pass and returned it for a score, giving them a nine-point margin.
