Oct. 29, 2010 --- Franklin County 14  G.W. 7

Missed Opportunities

The G-W Eagles had the ball in the red zone five times, but had only one touchdown to show for it.   Their inability to take advantage of two Franklin County turnovers was the difference as Franklin County won 14-7, claiming their second straight Western Valley District title.   After a scoreless first quarter, G.W. struck first midway through the second.   But Franklin County scored on a desperation touchdown pass on the last play of the first half to tie the game at the break.   In the second half, G.W. fumbled the opening kickoff and Franklin County took advantage, scoring a touchdown to take a 14-7 lead.   After that, Franklin County got only one first down; but their defense kept G.W. out of the end zone to secure the win.
