Shrine game smackdown!
The G.W. Eagles took advantage of turnovers and used their edge in speed to build up a 41-0 lead a little more than 15 minutes into the game. They used that to survive an astonishing 22 penalties to beat the Person County Rockets 41-to-12. D.J. Benion scored four touchdowns, including three on the ground and the first punt return for a score in eight years for the Eagles. He got his second straight 100-yard game to start the 2010 season. Tim Moore scored on a 14-yard pass and a 77-yard run.
