Oct. 2, 2009 --- Battlefield 42  G.W. 6

The gauntlet is over!

For the third week in a row the G.W. Eagles took on an unbeaten football team, and the results were the game.  The Eagles lost 42-6 to Battlefield High School, one of the largest high schools in Virginia.  The Bobcats didn't score until late in the first quarter, but added two more touchdowns before the Eagles could get on the scoreboard.  Battlefield iced the game with touchdowns on their first three second-half possessions.  The Eagles end a challenging three-game set against some of the area's top football teams.  They open district play at Patrick Henry on Friday.
