A night to remember!!!

Ten seconds into the second quarter, the G.W. Eagles trailed Matoaca, 21-0. The Warriors had outgained the Eagles, 190-41. Then the Eagles mounted an improbable comeback, on the shoulders of an incomparable player. David Wilson scored on runs of 69 and 13 yards to close the gap to 21-14 at the half. He scored on a 14-yard run early in the third to close the gap to one. He then returned a fumble 20 yards to give the Eagles their first lead. On another 61-yard TD run, Wilson did a forward flip into the end zone, resulting in a deep subsequent kickoff. The Warriors returned it 75 yards for a score to move to within 33-28. They then scored again to take a 34-33 lead. Then Wilson took over again. With Tahron Goods and B.J. Benion cramping, Wilson carried the mail the rest of the way. He scored two late touchdowns to seal the win. The final totals, a school-record 332 yards rushing and seven total touchdowns!! What a game!!
