Growing pains.
There were clear signs of improvement, but the G.W. Eagles were still well short against a solid Amherst County team. The Eagles relied on the long ball to get their two scores---both came on the first snap after a Lancer TD. David Wilson did the honors in the first quarter, then followed suit in the third. The Eagles had two hundred-yard rushers for the first time in three years, and racked up more than 300 yards on the ground.
